Finally coming down after the TNNA high and able to post a little something. Sadly, I have no pictures to share, but a little bit of this and that to share.
Sarah and I arrived late Thursday night (more like really early Friday morning) and took our time getting up! Friday afternoon, I took a double knitting class with Melissa Leapman, which really worked the old noggin! It was a great class and it covered the stuff I wanted to learn, which was a bonus.
Sarah and I had an amazing dinner Friday night at Deep Wood restaurant. The food was fantastic and we got to watch a big 'ole "hurricane" roll by before having to set out for a walk in the rain and wind back to the hotel. The wind was amazing and we thought maybe we would be spending the night at Deep Wood, which would not have been so bad, since the food was sssoooooo gooooodd!
We were up early Saturday morning to take classes. I took Cat Bordhi's Mobius Class and it was very cool. I am all Mobius excited now! Cat is a great instructor and her enthusiasm for knitting is infectious.
After class we were off to the marketplace floor. All I can say is that it is overwhelming! I can't wait for all the beautiful new yarns to come in. I dropped my newly finished Magenta Green Point Wrap (pictures coming soon) off at the Classic Elite booth, so they could show it off and everyone fell in love, which was flattering. It was great to see them and to see the upcoming books, one of which has my new fresco hat pattern in it (pictures coming soon too).
It was also great to meet Hannah from Malabrigo. I got to share my finished designs for the upcoming October Freelance Project ebook, which I am working on and I was just delighted by her response.
Saturday night we went back to the room and crashed! I mean crashed. The floor is exhausting and it felt great to climb into bed and relax, because we were both up early Sunday morning for more classes. I took another class with Cat Bordhi, which was again fantastical (new word I love) and Sarah took a class with Jennifer Knits, which she loved.
Back to the showroom floor and more shopping and connecting with people and all that jazz. Sunday night we went out for dinner with the lovely people from Kollage Yarns and one of our own Pacific Northwesters from Lantern Moon. I think Sarah will be hosting a little Kollage event this summer at her shop! You did not hear it from me, if she asks.
Up again early Monday morning for another class (getting the theme?). This one was a class on Steeking with Chris Bylsma and oh my the possibilities are endless! I am so excited about this new found knowledge that I just want to go out and share it with the world! I also wish I had it earlier to use on a sweater I am knitting now. Thanks to Chris, I think I can "fix" it though to make the steeking easier!
We had to get back to the floor to finish up Sarah's shopping and then off to the airport!
Whew. After 12 hours of travel we made it back home just in time to go to bed.
